Tuesday Morning Jolt...on Friday

Because I forgot to do this on Tuesday.
Today's track is Man of the Hour by Pearl Jam from the "Big Fish" soundtrack.
I waited through the whole movie to hear the song where it would get played.  Didn't happen until the credits.
The song didn't have a huge impact on me until my friend died.  Then it was like I couldn't not play it.  It seemed to be on rotate for about a week straight.

Now its taking on a new meaning.  Come October 22nd, I'll be walking that isle to a Cello/Violin duet version.  It took Kell quite some time convincing me that I could use this song for something other than remembering my friend's death.  I'm glad she did.

    I'm glad I helped you come around. It will always be a symbol of that time in your life. Hell I can't listen to One Headlight by the Wallflowers without thinking about a friends death - but in the end it song also makes me happy. I'm glad that this song and bring two important meanings into your life. It's a beautiful, beautiful song.

Growing Up Hurt and Humiliated. Part 1

Its occurred to me that in this particular point in my life, I don't have anything to really complain about. I've got a girl, dog, cat, house, and some whiskey in the freezer. I've grown tired of complaining about shiz I can't change; crappy musicians, politics, bad grammar. Why I Left Facebook.

I stopped logging into Facebook just about a month ago, and last week, had to finally deactivate. Facebook became a chore. It was no longer fun to log in and see what my friends and family were posting.  It had become a hotbed for idiotic political posts. At first I had tried filters just to change what people posted, then hiding posts.  Then, just trying to let people know that what they were posting just wasn't true.  It became an exercise in futility.  I was getting angry with people that I spoke very little to in real life. I really want to like people that I don't associate with all the time, and their Facebook updates was making it impossible.  Facebook had been turned into FOX News but turned up to eleven.  (Sorry Kell). Kind of like how myspace had become some kind of glittery ghetto of Mtv.
